Spam from My Email Account

Hi Everyone,

I discovered this morning that my Yahoo email account was used to send out a spam email apparently advertizing an online shopping site.  This email was sent to everyone in my address book, however, many of you may not have gotten it because I got error messages from some or your ISP's saying that it was blocked.

If you did get it, I would delete it immediately and do not go to the website it advertizes!  This kind of email is not from me, and I would NEVER send out mass emails advertizing anything!

I have taken some steps recommended by Yahoo to secure my account, so we will see if it works.

What's this About?

I was thinking the other day about what I could write in this blog of mine. Hmmm. Jerry Seinfeld had a TV "show about nothing", so I thought about a blog about nothing. Trouble is, his nothing was a lot more interesting than my nothing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my "nothing" immensely....it's just that I'm skeptical that anyone else would enjoy it quite as much as I do; after all, it's MY nothing, not your's.

Two nights ago I watched "Braveheart" (Mel Gibson) and loved it. I really like historic epics, especially if they have some sweeping battle scenes and heroic struggles.

Last night I watched "Firewall" (Harrison Ford). Ok, but not his best stuff. The techie stuff was a little silly too.

Tonight I get to see "Bones" and "House". Great shows...not that they in any way accurately show what happens in real labs and hospitals, but if they did, they wouldn't be nearly as much fun. In real life no physician, except MAYBE a clinical pathologist, would have any idea at all how to do a lab test. Many aren't sure where the lab is. That's not a bad thing; it's not their job to do that stuff. It's their job to make sense of the test results I provide for their patient. So in real life, you'd never, ever see a physician doing many of the things you see House & Company doing.

Well, I better go for now. It's time for me to go to work and watch bacteria grow. It's not an exciting TV plot, but it is real, and very important to the patient we got the bacteria out of. Reminds me; I need to call H. Down in Miami and see if I can borrow that new PCR thermocycler they had on the show last week if they're not using it. Might help us get a handle on that MRSA issue.

First Official Post

So this is my first official post to my new blog. It's coming from my Sidekick II, since my Windows Mobile Smartphone crashed again today. I've switched back to my Sidekick, and I think this time I'll stay with it. It's not quite as flexible as a Smartphone, but it's built like a tank, and does everything I need it to do.

Today was pretty uneventful; I worked at Evergreen, and watched a movie this evening..."Premonition" starring Sandra Bullock. I didn't really get it, but it was interesting in places.
Rose is still working on the program for her parent's 50th annaversary celebration next month. I'm sure it will be wonderful, as Rose has worked so hard on it.

Erin didn't feel well today. She had a fever and a headache, so David worked part of her shift for her at Big Lots. She told me later that she felt better, and was going to put on a movie and take a nap.

I'll try to post something every night, since this blog is truly easy to post to.
